About Pat
Pat Carrington-House, CPCC, PCC
Pat is a coach, a leadership trainer, and an experiential & contextual workshop designer. He leads seminars and workshops throughout the world, training people to be effective coaches, better leaders, and agents of transformation.
As a senior faculty member for more than 20 years with CTI, the world’s largest in-person coach training organization, Pat brings a deep knowledge of the Co-Active Coaching and Leadership models to those eager to learn new approaches to leadership, coaching, and coaching certification.
Over 20 years ago, he founded Dolphin Leadership Inc., a coaching and leadership training company that works with individuals, teams, and organizations.
For the better part of his life, Pat has maintained a strong connection to the natural world. Over much of the last decade Pat has been a student of a pre-Mayan wisdom tradition known as the Origin Teachings of the Delicate Lodge and The Beauty Way. He weaves this wisdom into all of his endeavors, including outdoor experiential trainings and vision quests.
Pat has a BA in Fine Arts from the University of San Francisco and has held management positions in several industries, including: outdoor sporting, natural medicine, finance, leisure, and film.
Hunting Grace is a concept that a friend of Pat’s came up with, and has stuck with him for some time now. Grace, in Pat’s simplistic definition, is what happens when one witnesses what happens in relationships. It is not the leaf that is grace, it is the relationship of the leaf and the wind that is grace. So hunting grace is about paying attention to all relationships, with the intention of finding grace.
The idea of play and sacred play, along with irreverent reverence, is hugely important to his life, so working with Pat all but guarantees there will be as much deep laughter as there will be deep learning.
What is coaching
Mostly coaching is about discovering ways to unlock your potential. It’s about forwarding your action and deepening your learning. It’s about rediscovering and creating new inner resources. It can be about discovering and defining your purpose, and how to live that purpose into the world, creating the kind of impact and legacy you have only dreamt about. Coaching can also be as simple as about getting through the next week with a little more grace than the last.
